“ It gives me enormous pleasure in welcoming competitors to the 2004 Hellenic Australian Tennis Championships. Tennis NSW is particularly pleased to be able to provide sanction for this prestigious event” said Craig Watson, Chief Executive of Tennis NSW.
Philippoussis is passionate about his sport and increasing the numbers who play the game. Likewise, it is important to him that players stay in the game and reach their potential.
“ By supporting the Hellenic Australian Tennis Championships I hope to encourage talented Greek Australians playing for the ‘Mark Philippoussis Cup’ to reach their potential and to showcase their talents to the sporting world. It’s a great initiative to promote the game of tennis in Australia and is an opportunity to bring together Greeks from all over Australia” added Philippoussis.
