Mr. Nick Philippoussis highlighted this during a speech at a cocktail party held by the Hellenic Tennis Association last Monday 12 January 2004 at the Sheraton Four Points at Darling Harbour. When Nick was asked about Mark’s view on being the “patron” of the inaugural Hellenic Tennis Championships he said “ We are both very proud to be a part and when he told Mark his reaction was great dad, I’d love to. He was also very proud to have the cup named in his honor.
It was a wonderful evening attended by many prominent members of the Greek Community.
