Aggelos Venizelos is of Greek (father) - Greek - American (mother) origin. He is the second son of Panos and Eva Venizelou and has an older brother, Rocco, who is his senior by 9 years.
He started playing tennis before he turned 5 at the Chalkida Tennis Club (Greece), which is in the city of Chalkida, the permanent residence of his family.
His first coaches were Katerina Lymberopoulou, Vasilis Roubis and Bobby Papaioannou and his physical trainer was Nikos Moraitis.
His last coach before he left Greece was Yiannis Kabakoglou, who coached him for approximately 5 months at the Padalki Club in Galatsi, Athens.
In the summer of 2004, just after he finished primary school, at the age of 11, he accepted the invitation of Mr. Xavier Torner, director of the Top Team Bruguera Tennis Academy in Barcelona and since then he has lived and trained there.
He is currently in 8th grade (2nd year of high school).
His interests include music, films, cinema, PlayStation games and reading. He enjoys football and is an avid supporter of AEK ATHENS football club. Apart from tennis he also plays a lot of table tennis.
